The Trail Went Cold – Episode 283 – Gordon Page Jr. & Kristi Krebs – The Trail Went Cold

May 26, 1991. Grand Rapids, Michigan. Gordon Page Jr., 28, is discovered to have disappeared from his room at the Cascade Foster Care Home, a residential treatment center for people with autism. Since a man matching Gordon’s description is seen hitchhiking on a nearby highway, it is theorized that he escaped the house in order to travel to Florida to see his family. There are other reported eyewitness sightings of Gordon and a collection of baseball cards believed to belong to him are found under an overpass in the weeks following his disappearance, but he continues to be a missing person.

August 10, 1993. Mendocino County, California. Kristi Krebs, 22, quits her job at a pizzeria, but never returns home, and her abandoned car is found stuck in the mud in a remote wooded area the next day. The scene mirrors an incident three years earlier where a car Kristi was driving caught fire in another wooded area and she suffered psychotic trauma-related depression that caused her to temporarily lose her memory. As there are numerous reports of a disoriented-looking woman fitting the description of Kristi hitchhiking across the country, it is feared that she has suffered another breakdown and has completely forgotten who she was, but Kristi is never found.

On this week’s episode of “The Trail Went Cold,” we explore a pair of missing person cases that were featured on “Unsolved Mysteries” and are still unresolved three decades later.
