Molly-Mae Hague’s Wikipedia page was edited by irritated people dubbing her “Margaret Thatcher with a fake tan.”
The Love Island star has been the subject of controversy after making “deaf” comments about wealth inequality and saying that anyone can achieve anything if they just work hard enough for it .
People were furious after she failed to recognize her privileged upbringing as well as the automatic boost her appearance on Love Island gave her.
Since then, PrettyLittleThing’s creative director has been dubbed “Margaret Thatcher with a fake tan” by angry fans on Twitter.
His Wikipedia was quickly edited by people to reflect Thatcher’s comments made online.
The page begins with: “Molly-Mae Thatcher (born May 26, 1999) is an English social media influencer. She is best known for having had Love Island’s fifth series ripped off and working harder than anyone else. succeeded it. “
The rest of the Wikipedia page called him “Thatcher”.
In the “controversy” section of her page, someone added of comments she made: “To many it showed a muffled insolence and a heinous sense of ignorance, especially in a time when there is. unprecedented use of food banks electricity / gas crisis, exacerbating the problem of around 1 in 5 people in the UK living in poverty. ”
The backlash on the star began when a clip of her conversation with Dragon’s Den businessman Steven Bartlett on his podcast A CEO’s Diary went viral.
Molly-Mae said, “‘You are given a life and it’s up to you what you do with it. You can literally go in any direction.”
“When I talked about it in the past, I got a bit of a criticism, with people saying ‘it’s easy for you to say that because you didn’t grow up in poverty, so for you to to sit there and say we all have the same 24 hours in a day is not correct. ‘ But, technically, what I’m saying is correct. We are doing it, ”she also said.
The reality TV star added that she “understands” that everyone comes from “different backgrounds” and that everyone has “different financial situations”. However, she asserted that “if you want something that is enough, you can achieve it”.

Thatcher’s comments came from Twitter, with one user saying, “I should have put Molly-Mae as Margaret Thatcher with a fake tan on my 2022 bingo card.”
Despite the endless backlash she received, she was defended by several people on this matter.
“I think it’s out of context for miles. The message she portrays is correct. Anything is achievable if you’re willing to go as far as you want. That doesn’t mean she’s less right.” said a user with Molly-Mae.
Shaughna Phillips also said her comments could be due to the fact that she is “young” and has not lived “the life”.
