New Music USA has announced the recipients of the 2022 Creators Development Fund grant.
This year, 112 creators received grants from the organization. The list of winners is available here.
The total amount awarded was $335.00 in the United States. The winners were chosen in the hopes of supporting creators who have been impacted by the challenges created by COVID-19 and those focusing on new music. Another New Music USA goal was to support twice as many creators as in 2021. This served in part for the organization’s 10th anniversary.
The Creators Development Fund grant supported 54% of awardees who identify as female, non-binary or transgender, 71% of awardees are BIPOC and artists based in 25 states.
New Music USA President and CEO Vanessa Reed said in a press release, “I am proud that this year, as part of our 10th anniversary, we were able to support more creators than ever as we ‘they continue to be challenged by the ongoing pandemic. The breadth of inspiring applications we received from across the country demonstrates the resilience of our community and the continued needs of individual creators to have access to resources during these uncertain times. I can’t wait to see the creativity and collaboration that flourish in these artists.
