What do you need to grow wheatgrass at home?

  • A bowl or jar to germinate

  • A cup of sprouting wheat seeds

  • A tray with drainage holes

  • Compost or soil enriched with fertilizer

  • Plastic cover with ventilation holes












How to germinate wheatgrass seeds?

  • Remove any stones or debris from half a cup of seeds before germinating wheatgrass.

  • Put these seeds in a bowl or jar for germination.

  • After adding water, cover the jar with a plastic lid. For at least six hours or overnight, soak these seeds.

  • After that, completely drain the seeds from the water. At least two and three times a day, repeat the flushing and draining processes.

  • The seeds will start to germinate in two to three days. The tails should now start to appear.

How to grow wheatgrass at home?

  • Fill the growing tray with a layer of soil half an inch or more.

  • To wet the floor, mist it with a little water, but don’t overdo it.

  • Sprinkling sprouted seeds on the ground is a good idea.

  • After that, cover the seeds with loose soil.

  • Place the tray in a dry place with some light to the side.












  • A plastic lid with vent holes is used to cover the tray. A minimum of one to two inches of grass should be able to grow on the lid.

  • Mist the seeds with water every day until they take root and grass begins to appear.

  • Remove the cover once the grass is about 1-2 inches long.

  • Continue to water the grass daily.
