In a recent interview with Empire, Christie opened up about how her portrayal of Brienne of Tarth on Game of Thrones could have helped her prepare for Lucifer in the upcoming series. She recalled, “I was so delighted [co-showrunner Allen Heinberg] asked me to play Lucifer because it’s a great role. There are few castings that can replace that – maybe God, whatever! Plus, it’s fun to be horrible.

Christie continued, “Neil clarified that Lucifer is a fallen angel and an angel has no gender at all. And I can play androgynous. We know that from Game Of Thrones, because of my appearance. So I hope that helped in portraying the character.
