Pro wrestling legend and two-time WWE Hall of Famer Booker T, former five-time WCW World Heavyweight Champion and former WWE The World Heavyweight Champion addressed CM Punk and Adam Page’s situation at AEW and talked about it.
Booker T began his professional wrestling career in 1989. He traveled to different pro wrestling promotions before getting his biggest break in 1993 when he signed for WCW. He was one of the greatest wrestlers created by WCW.
Back in the ’90s, when the Monday Night Wars were the hottest thing in pro wrestling, WCW mostly relied on ready-made stars. Only a few names actually created by WCW at this time, such as Goldberg and Booker T.
Booker remained in WCW until the very last promotion date and became one of its biggest stars. After WCW’s death, he joined WWE and became one of the promotion’s greatest legends. In 2001 he came to WWE and he won his fifth WCW World Heavyweight Championship reign in his first year in WWE.
At first he was treated as a main event star, then in 2002 he was upgraded to a top midcard. He challenged Triple H for the World Heavyweight Championship at Wrestlemania XIX but he failed to win it and remained a midcard star.
In 2004 he joined Smackdown and turned heel and that was the start of his push into the main event. It all started with his King of the Ring victory in 2006 and on the same here he won the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.
This was his only reign as WWE World Champion. In 2007, he joined TNA Wrestling. He was treated as a TNA Main Event departure, but he was never able to win the TNA World Championship. After leaving the promotion in 2010, he never wrestled regularly for any promotion.
Sure, he made a few sporadic appearances from time to time, but he was absent from regular pro wrestling action. In 2013 he was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame and in 2019 he was again inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame as a member of the Harlem Heat.
Booker T, who is a five-time WCW World Heavyweight Champion, recently spoke on his Hall of Fame podcast where he addressed and talked about CM Punk and Adam Page’s situation in AEW. He said;
“He’s one of the main guys who doesn’t take advice when it comes to me. Being able to come out and say, ‘I did this. I did this.’ Do you think that’s the advice that comes from any of the veterans who worked before him that’s going to come out and say it publicly on television in front of the world?He should know the most about this situation.
“I’m not casting any shade on him or anything, but he’s the oldest guy in the room in this situation here. He should be the most mature guy in the room. He said it himself, ‘I work with a group of kids here.’ It’s true. That means I have to get down to their level so I can hopefully bring them up to my level. That’s how I treat young people. »
