Old Testament
From Wikible
The Old Testament consists of 39 complete and distinct books. It is the same text as the Jewish Tanakh and is also called the Hebrew Bible or Hebrew Scriptures in academic circles.
The Old Testament gets its name from the "old covenant (or testament)" (Gr. diatheke) mentioned in 2 Corinthians 3:14. This terminology summarizes the OT because it represents the beginnings of God's relationship with humankind.
